Graham James Charged With New Counts of Sexual Assault

Dartmouth, NS - Big news here in Canada today as the Winnipeg RCMP (Canadian Police) have filed charges against Graham James for 9 new counts of sexual assault. For those of you who do not know Graham James, he was the Major Junior coach who sexually assaulted his hockey players. Most notably Sheldon Kennedy (Detroit Red Wings, Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins); which caused his arrest and prison sentence.

James was granted a pardon in 2007 and ended up coaching hockey in Spain. Then he was fired once his past was discovered up.

But now after Theo Fleury's book Playing With Fire new charges are being filed against the disgraced hockey coach. CBC discovered this year that Graham James was living in Mexico and going under the name of Michael James.

Just wanted to share this news with the hockey community. It is sad but this kind of abuse of trust and authority still happens in the sporting world. Glad the police are filing more charges and I hope justice can be brought for not only Theo, but the other un-named hockey players.
