Canada's Akwesasne Warriors won the 2011 Commissioners Cup defeating the New York Aviators 3 games to 1 in the best of 5 series. This is the first international professional champions trophy to cross the Canadian border since the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League won the Calder Cup in 2007 (Carey Price was MVP). I say 'international' because there is the LNAH professional league in Quebec.
Attendance was much better at the Warriors games as they saw 1,834 fans for Game 3 and 1,036 for Game 4.
Warrior's forward Daniel Tessier finished atop the points leader table with 17 points in 7 games.
Still no more news to report on the Danville franchise and the rumoured franchises in Ohio and Michigan.
