2011 Winter Universiade - Canada Update - Jan.29

Canada's men university team suffered its first defeat of the tournament at the  hands of Belarus. Belarus, with a roster full of professional players, won the game in a shootout. The win for Belarus puts them in top spot of Group B.

Artem Demkov lead the Belorussians with 2 goals and an assist. Demkov played a season in the Quebec Major Junior League with Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and Acadie-Bathurst Titan before heading back to Belarus to play in the top professional league there. 

Canada will face South Korea on Monday and Belarus will face Slovenia to finish up Group B play.
